Chesterfield’s Tapton Park Golf Course is in full swing after joining a leading Chamber of Commerce.

The award winning golf club, managed by Sheffield International Venues (SIV), has become a member of the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber to further enhance its profile across the region.

Tapton Park is now set to host its first networking event as a Chamber member for local businesses and organisations, showcasing the conferencing and events facilities on offer at the venue.

The inaugural North Derbyshire Business Exchange, taking place on 26 January, is an opportunity for members to meet, network with other delegates over lunch, identify new suppliers, find new contacts and create business partnerships at Tapton’s newly refurbished club house.

Andy Carnall, SIV’s golf manager, said: “Joining the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce will provide us with a strong platform to promote our venue and services to local business and organisations.

“The opportunities to network and raise the profile of Tapton Park are already proving to be excellent and we are looking forward to hosting the Business Exchange event, our first as Chamber members, in the New Year.

“The event will not only be beneficial for us to network with other Chamber members, but will also be an opportunity for us to show businesses what we have to offer in terms of conferencing and events facilities.”

SIV took over operations at Tapton from Chesterfield Borough Council in April 2008 and since then has invested £170,000 in the club, leading to a 100 per cent increase in memberships.

The Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce is now the third largest Chamber in the UK, with approximately 3,300 members.
